Darjeeling Black, FTGFOP 2nd Flush This premium, second flush organic black tea comes from Ghoom, one of the highest elevation regions of Darjeeling (5,495 ft). The lightly oxidized, multi-colored leaves are sprinkled with silver buds. Sweet, floral and fresh with hints of muscatel flavor and glowing auburn infusion. Slightly bolder than the First Flush it is a delightful tea perfectly suited for any time of the day with food or without. Poobong, nestled on the slopes of the Himalayas, is a small tea estate but one of the oldest in India, established in 1913. Since then, it produces an excellent quality teas that remain amongst the most sought-after in the world. The place itself is quite beautiful with mist and clouds hovering just out of reach since the altitude varies around 3000 to 5000 feet. The word Poobong means "valley of bamboos" a reference to an exotic setting where the tea itself grows.
