Description Darjeeling 1. Flush Seeyok FTGFOP1, DJ 05/25 This early 2025 Darjeeling 1. Flush comes from Seeyok, a beautiful garden tucked away at the upper end of the Mirik Valley, close to the Nepalese border and not far from the small town of Sukhiapokhri. Established by the British in 1869, Seeyok was one of the first gardens in the region to make the move to organic farming back in the 1990s. The estate stretches from 1100m on the valley floor to just over 1800m at its highest points, offering spectacular views across the valley and towards many of Darjeeling’s most renowned tea gardens. Seeyok has built a strong reputation over the years, known for its award-winning teas and its commitment to both innovation and preserving classic, seed-grown China bushes. This particular Darjeeling 1. Flush Seeyok lot is a beautiful expression of that heritage—fresh, fruity, and delicately floral. It’s made exclusively from original China plants and showcases the kind of quality that’s becoming increasingly rare. We were only able to get our hands on it thanks to our long-standing relationships in the region. A fine example of a high-grown Darjeeling First Flush from the start of the 2025 harvest, this organic Seeyok Darjeeling 1. FTGFOP1, DJ 05/25 strikes a lovely balance between floral and fruity. Expect notes of ripe apricot, peach, and honey, with a soft mineral finish that lingers on the palate. The dry leaf is well-rolled and of excellent quality. Brewed for just three minutes, the liquor is clear, bright, and mellow. Give it five, and it deepens to a golden amber, revealing a layered, more complex profile.
