Description When we first introduced Citrus Earl Grey in 2011 it was praised in the Stuttgarter Zeitung as the best Earl Grey outside of India and England! One of our best selling blends, we chose a combination of China and Ceylon black teas for our Citrus Earl Grey and added an extra touch of citrus flavouring to the traditional bergamot. The result is a refreshing and vibrant tea that is both relaxing and refreshing. Some of our customers drink it in the morning but we think it is perfect as an afternoon tea, especially when served with shortbread and/or scones with home-made jam and clotted cream! Earl Grey tea is a black tea infused with the distinctive flavour of bergamot. Originally created in the 1830s for British Prime Minister Earl Grey, it was developed to mask the unpleasant taste of lime in the water at his family estate. Originally blended by a Chinese tea master, Earl Grey was later adopted by Twinings of London and has since become the best-selling black tea blend in the western world. Building on this classic, Citrus Earl Grey adds a refreshing twist by incorporating additional citrus flavours. The harmonious blend of bergamot, lemon and orange zest creates a vibrant and zesty aroma that enhances the traditional Earl Grey experience.
