Rattan is a flexible plant material similar to wicker, it can be used in all sorts of ways from making furniture to baskets. To keep its shape, it is bound with iron wire. A few years ago I had a customer ask me if I sold these handles, as he wanted to repair his tea pot. I didn’t at the time, and every once in a while I’ve thought about how I let him down. Though I have several tea pots, I don’t really use them anymore, because usually I brew in my glass carafes. One of my special tea pots lost its handle and I committed to finding a proper replacement. It’s not like they’re hard to find online, but I’m pretty happy with these ones. The distance between the ends is sitting around 12~13cm. It’s very flexible, it could go wider or shorter.
