The whole leaves and blossoms are obtained through a labor-intensive process where workers separate them from the stems by hand to prevent crushing. The purpose? To preserve the herb as a whole, when crushed and used to extract all of its powerful aromas and full taste potential as a finishing oregano. TASTE: Uncommonly herbaceous, tingling, with a rich citrusy flavor. USES: Whole-leaf herbs have the benefit of releasing their full aromas when crumbled. To get the most of our Aegean Isle Oregano, get a pitch and crush it with your fingers, before sprinkling it over your favorite dish. It makes an exceptional finishing herb and pairs well with root vegetables, briny fish, or as a topping over salads and soft cheese.
